VINTAGE CULTURED PEARL Necklace with Diamonds & Amethyst White Gold Clasp
1950s Cultured Pearl Necklace — 85cm (33.5”) with White Gold Amethyst & Diamond Clasp
In Original George Attenborough & Son Case
A refined mid-century cultured pearl necklace, measuring 85 cm (33.5 inches) and composed of beautifully matched pearls with a soft, classic lustre. The strand graduates gently, culminating in a slightly larger central pearl of approximately 6–8 mm, which adds a subtle sense of balance when worn as a single long rope.
The necklace is finished with a striking gem-set clasp, mounted in white gold (tested, no assay marks), centred by a vivid oval amethyst displaying a rich purple hue. Surrounding the amethyst are old single-cut diamonds, adding a delicate, antique sparkle that lifts the entire piece and gives the clasp the presence of a miniature jewel in its own right.
With its generous length, the necklace can also be worn in a double-row formation, depending on the wearer’s neckline and styling preference — a versatile piece that transitions easily from day to evening.
This necklace is presented in its original case from George Attenborough & Son of Fleet Street, London, a distinguished jeweller sadly no longer in operation. The box alone adds historical charm and collectability.
Please note: The amethyst brooch shown in some images is not included in this listing. It may be purchased separately or as part of a combined set — see our shop for details or send us a message.
A graceful 1950s jewel with enduring style, understated luxury and a touch of London history.
