Vintage Art Deco Style Amethyst & Rock Crystal Sautoir Necklace, 85cm.

A long, elegant sautoir composed of alternating 27 polished amethyst beads and 63 fluted hand carved rock crystal spheres, each section punctuated with reeded gilt spacers that give the strand its quiet architectural rhythm. The amethyst gems deliver a rich, saturated purple; the beautiful hand carved rock crystal adds cool luminosity and texture; the gilt brings a refined warmth that ties the whole design together.

The necklace measures 85 cm end to end, appx 40cm drop as worn, and drapes effortlessly as a single luxurious strand. In excellent condition, minus some typical natural inclusions in the amethyst beads and expected wear.

Total weight: 78.4 g. Unmarked, though reputed to have been designed in the Boucheron look, and stylistically right in line with the restrained geometry and refined materials associated with early 20th-century French houses.
