A captivating Late Victorian precious opal cluster ring, circa 1900, centred by an exceptional certified natural precious opal weighing approximately 13.50 carats, believed to be of Australian origin.

The large oval cabochon opal displays extraordinary play-of-colour, with vivid flashes of green, blue, orange and red visible across changing light conditions. Of translucent character with remarkable internal life and movement, the opal possesses the luminous glow and depth highly prized in fine antique opal jewellery.

Surrounding the opal is an elegant antique cluster of rose cut diamonds and cabochon moonstones, further accented by rose cut diamond-set shoulders. The original antique cluster is crafted in silver gilt, typical of the period, and has been later mounted onto a substantial 18ct gold shank for strength and wearability.
