Exceptional Long Vintage Freshwater Pearl Rope Necklace 162cm Endless Strand

An exceptional vintage freshwater pearl rope necklace of dramatic opera length, composed of stylistically matched large button-form pearls displaying rich natural lustre with subtle silver, cream and soft rose overtones.

The necklace measures an impressive 162cm (appx 80cm as worn), allowing it to be worn long, doubled, layered or knotted, giving it remarkable versatility and a strong contemporary look despite its classic material. Worn doubled, the strand sits with substantial presence and elegant weight.

The pearls measure approximately appx 10–12mm (we haven’t measured all of them) and show attractive organic shaping and natural surface character, enhancing the authenticity and tactile beauty of the piece. Individually knotted throughout.

Unlike highly uniform modern commercial strands, these pearls possess a more sculptural and luxurious appearance, with soft satiny lustre that performs beautifully in both daylight and indoor lighting.

Origin:
Greater China freshwater cultured pearls, consistent with the scale, shape and production style of high-quality long-form freshwater pearl ropes from the late 20th century.
