Art Deco Ruby & Diamond Brooch 1920’s
Art Deco Ruby & Diamond Brooch
A rare and elegant Art Deco brooch built around a striking geometric composition of two intertwined ovals. Each curve is defined by alternating segments of calibre-cut rubies and single-cut diamonds, all channel-set with the crisp precision characteristic of the 1920s. The rubies are bright, evenly matched and full of life, giving a strong contrast against the clean sparkle of the diamonds (Est. VS-VVS, H-I-J-K Colours)
At the intersections sit two old-cut diamonds with a combined estimated weight of 0.73ct, each held in a smooth millegrain setting that enhances their light return and echoes the refined metalwork of the period. The two principal diamond dimensions: 4.1 x 4.1 x 3.1 mm 0.35ct and 4.3 x 4.3 x 3.0 mm 0.38ct.
The reverse retains its original brooch fittings, with the metal testing as platinum over 18ct gold — the classic Art Deco pairing chosen for both strength and beauty. Measuring 3.5 × 2.1 cm and weighing 6.2 g, the brooch has a balanced, confident presence without being heavy.
A beautifully preserved example of early 20th-century craftsmanship: vibrant stones, sharp lines and unmistakable Deco sophistication.
