ANTIQUE JADE JADEITE & Diamonds Gold Pendant c.1900-1910
Antique Jadeite Jade & Diamond Pendant (c.1900–1910)
A beautifully detailed antique pendant from the early 20th century, designed in an ornate foliate style and set throughout with rose-cut and single-cut diamonds that lend soft, antique sparkle to the piece. The openwork top section is delicately crafted, with scrolling leaves and floral motifs that show the refined handwork typical of jewellery from 1900–1910.
Suspended below is a vivid jadeite jade drop, semi-translucent against direct light, carved in flowing relief to depict stylised flowers and leaves. The carving is lively, with strong colour and movement that catches the light beautifully. The contrast between the cool, old cut diamonds and the fresh green jade creates a striking balance.
The pendant bears no assay marks, which is common for pieces of this age, and weighs 5.0g with a length of 6.0cm. It is offered without a chain. While the form could allow it to be worn as a pin, this would require a brooch fitting to be added through the existing hoop.
A graceful and distinctive antique jewel — elegant, characterful and full of period charm. *Note: The piece comes with the relevant wear pursuant with its age and use, but still holds it’s character and history well and shines romantically under softer indoor and brighter daylight too.
