ANTIQUE AMETHYST & DIAMONDS Ring

This is a vintage cocktail ring with a large oval amethyst cabochon as the centerpiece. It’s not faceted — it’s smooth and domed. The color is strong, saturated purple with some natural internal inclusions visible, which is normal for cabochon amethyst. Around it, there’s a halo of singlencut old diamonds.
 
The setting in yellow gold testing 14K with detailed, ornate metalwork on the shank. No assay marks. Good overall condition, diamonds are set in closed silver on top of gold so with time there is slight dullness, but they do reflect the light well. Amethyst shows expected small scratches, there is a small internal chip on one side close to the setting, not visible unless you look. It is a mid-century (1950s–1970s) Victorian-inspired design. The ring has presence. This isn’t a dainty piece. It’s meant to be seen — typical of cocktail rings and statement rings. Size M1/2 cannot be resized by us, but a jeweller may wish to do it. Overall ring weight of 12 grams.
